Phan Thiet is the main city of Binh Thuan province, Viet Nam. Located on the East Sea, it is one of Vietnam' s most important fishing areas. Phan Thiet has a long coastline and a hot, mainly dry climate with an average temperature of 27 degrees celsius. The population includes descendants of the Cham, rulers of the area until 1692. In recent years, Phan Thiet (specifically Mui Ne Beach district) has become a preferred resort destination. Cape Mui Ne is a glorious 21 sq km  area of deserted beach and towering coconut palms.
